MISTURA FOOD FAIR 2011

Mistura the biggest food fair in South America took place this year in "Parque de la Exposicion" definetly a much bigger place than last year and reaching the expectations received double amount of people than last year. But what's new in Mistura  2011 the "Huariques"area where people could find amazing food from small local restaurants and of course at affordable prices. Another addition to the fair was the "El Gran Bazar"stand where you could find from appliances to  products from the biggest brands in Perú like Alicorp, Nestle and Kraft.
The bakery in the Mistura food fair was a very busy stand due to the delicious varieties of bread found there. Different rolls from every province of Perú.
The Great Market full of local products and exotic fruits. More than 86 varieties of fruits. More than 300 producers from 18 different areas of Perú.
People that visited the fair could buy products that aren't very common in Lima like: Camu camu, anona, copoazú, hericungo, huasai, inayugo, titomba, pitajaya or aguaje all.
This picture above shows one of the products offered in the Great Market it is mushroom panettone, what basically is a sweet bread with raisins but contains a special ingridient: mushrooms picked from the bottom of the pine trees located in a small community in Lambayeque province called Marayhuaca. Proven to have a high nutritional value because it cointains folic acid, potassium, iron and zinc this product was one the sensations of the fair due to its innovative ingridients and very good taste.
The farmer Wilson Sucaticona was also in the Mistura food fair offering what we all wanted to taste the best organic coffee of the world " El Tunki ". Vissitors could buy a bag of the best organic coffee of the world in its 3 varieties: capuccino, expresso and american for a very affordable price.

Another sensation of the fair was the rustic cuisines, the picture above shows a different way to roast the pig. Chefs just added a bit of salt and place the pigs on this metal trays. The fire is basically cow and wood. Pig cooks in a few hours but the flavor and crunchines makes the wait so worth it.
